A Trakt alternative for people who watch together

Trakt is a powerful service, and for some people it's the right one. Cena is for a different need: tracking shows on your phone with the person you watch them with, without spoilers, and with tracking that stays free.

What Cena does differently

• Watch together: link accounts with whoever you watch with and see which episode each of you is on, on one track. If someone watches ahead, the app tells you.
• Spoiler shield: comments, titles and stills of episodes you haven't seen stay blurred until you tap.
• Taste compatibility: see how alike you and a friend are, and what they loved that you haven't seen.
• "I have 45 minutes": say how much time you have and get episodes or a movie that fit.
• TV DNA and Wrapped: your genres by time actually watched, fun facts, badges showing how rare they are and a yearly Wrapped.
• Home-screen widget: tick an episode without opening the app.

Bring your Trakt history

Request your data export on trakt.tv, then in Cena go to Profile, Settings, Import watch history and pick the watched-history JSON file or a CSV exported from Trakt. Trakt keeps each title's ID, so shows and movies come in without name mix-ups. This is a one-time import, not a sync.

When to stay on Trakt

• Automatic tracking: Cena has no scrobbling from Plex, Kodi or streaming apps. You tick episodes yourself, or from the widget.
• Sync with other apps: Cena doesn't sync with Trakt or expose an API for third-party apps.
• iPhone and the web: Cena is an Android app for now. Get notified when it's on iPhone.
• Custom lists and rewatch logging: not there yet.

Why tracking stays free

Cena was designed to cost cents per user per year to run: shared data is computed once for everyone, and much of the work happens on your phone. Tracking will never go behind a paywall, your data is never sold, and you can export everything for free at any time.
